Social justice fatigue is the physical, mental, and/or emotional toll incurred through advocating for social change while serving as an agent of an institution of higher education.  The following videos highlight what we learned from a dissertation study designed to vet the definition above, identify the core components of social justice fatigue and whether or not and how it shows up for Student Affairs Professionals and coping strategies SAPros employ.  

 

In 2017, a research study was conducted to explore and understand social justice fatigue.  Seven people spent 30 days tracking five dimensions of wellness, these are their stories.
